Welding Machine FAQ

Duty cycle is the percentage of a 10-minute period that a welding machine can operate at its rated current without overheating. For example, a 60% duty cycle at 200A means the machine can weld at 200A for 6 minutes, then needs 4 minutes to cool. Higher duty cycle = more continuous welding time.

IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) is the switching technology used in modern inverter welders. IGBT machines are more efficient, lighter, and more reliable than older MOSFET designs. All WELDERNEED machines use IGBT technology, with SiC MOSFET in industrial MIG models for even higher performance.

MMA (Manual Metal Arc / Stick) uses flux-coated electrodes and is ideal for outdoor work, rusty metal, and thick materials. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) uses a continuous wire feed with shielding gas, producing cleaner welds on thinner materials and is faster for production work. MMA is simpler and cheaper; MIG is more productive.

IGBT handles higher current and voltage with better thermal stability. MOSFET switches faster but has higher losses at high power. For welding machines, IGBT is the standard for reliability. Our industrial MIG series uses SiC MOSFET (Silicon Carbide) which combines the best of both technologies for maximum efficiency.

A plasma cutter uses a high-velocity jet of ionized gas (plasma) to cut through electrically conductive metals like steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. It produces clean, precise cuts with minimal heat distortion. WELDERNEED offers 60A and 100A plasma cutters with built-in air compressors.

Yes. Our MMA300ST and MMA400ST support both 230V single phase and 415V three phase input (±10% tolerance). This means one machine works across different power supply conditions without needing separate models.

Voltage

Yes. Our MMA welders (MMA300ST, MMA400ST) support 230V single phase input with ±10% tolerance (207V-253V). This covers standard single phase power in India, Middle East, and most of Asia.

Yes. Our MMA welders also support 415V three phase input with ±10% tolerance (373V-456V). Three phase power is standard for industrial applications in India and many other countries.

India uses 230V single phase for residential and light commercial, and 415V three phase for industrial applications. Frequency is 50Hz. Our machines are designed for these exact specifications.

UAE uses 220V single phase and 380V/415V three phase at 50Hz. Our machines are compatible with UAE power supply. The ±10% tolerance handles voltage fluctuations common in the region.

OEM

Yes. We provide full OEM service including custom logo printing on the machine front panel, custom brand colors, custom packaging design, and user manuals with your brand. MOQ for OEM is 50 units per model.

Yes. We can produce machines in your brand colors. Common choices include blue, red, orange, green, and black. Custom color MOQ is 100 units. We match Pantone colors for brand consistency.

OEM MOQ is 50 units per model. For first-time orders, we can reduce to 30 units for market testing. Standard (non-OEM) orders start from 10 units. Mixed model orders are welcome.

Yes. We design custom packaging with your brand, including color boxes, foam inserts, accessory kits, and user manuals. We also handle Certificate of Origin and export documentation for your shipment.

Orders

We accept T/T (bank transfer), Western Union, and PayPal for small orders. Standard terms: 30% deposit, 70% balance before shipment. For established distributors, we offer LC at sight and flexible payment terms.

In-stock models ship within 7 days. Standard orders (10-100 units) complete in 15-20 days. OEM orders with custom branding complete in 20-30 days. Large container orders may take 30-45 days depending on quantity.

A 20GP container fits approximately 250-350 units depending on model size. For example: MMA300ST (lighter) fits ~350 units, while TIG500P (heavier) fits ~200 units. We optimize loading to maximize container space.

A 40HQ container fits 600-900 units depending on model. This is the most cost-effective shipping option per unit. We provide a loading plan before shipment to confirm quantities.

Yes. Every order includes 1% free spare parts (PCBs, fans, switches, etc.). Additional spare parts can be purchased separately. We maintain spare parts inventory for 5+ years after purchase.

We provide 1-year warranty on all machines covering manufacturing defects. Extended warranty available for large orders. We maintain spare parts inventory for 5+ years to support after-sales service.
